Canterbury School’s 50th Anniversary
Celebrate Canterbury’s legacy that was created by passionate parents and families of the St. Petersburg community over the past half-century. Mayor Kriseman will be in attendance with a proclamation at 8am along with friends from the Land of Oz. The party will continue at 1pm on the Knowlton Campus (Grades 5-12), 990 62nd Ave NE, where students will engage in festival-style activities that celebrate the unique Canterbury experience featuring signature programs like Marine Studies, Technology, the Arts, and International Studies. An evening celebration of Canterbury’s Athletics will kick off at 6pm on the Knowlton Campus where the community will enjoy catered food and treats, various carnival-style games and activities for our little Crusaders, and will conclude with a home game for the Varsity football team with an induction into Canterbury’s Athletics Hall of Fame at halftime.

La Lucha Album Release Concert
“Best of The Bay” trio, La Lucha returns to the intimate Side Door to celebrate the release of their new album which will also be available for purchase at the show! Featuring all new original music, inspired by brains, a Taco Bell drive-thru & A.C. Slater, this will be La Lucha’s newest release since 2015. Expect a fun and funky evening of piano trio, synthsplorations and a party of adventurous rhythmic detours. 8-11pm.

Uniqorn: Pink (J-Pop / K-Pop Night with Anime Cosplay & Kawaii)

Uniqorn presents an Asian inspired lounge night with sounds from the Far East and beyond. We invite you to join us for our fourth edition Pink: featuring K-Pop and J-Pop hits with anime cosplay and kawaii encouraged. A listening, drinking, and social experience at Ichicoro ANE’s exclusive Ba Lounge. Guests who RSVP and arrive early will enjoy complimentary light bites of their popular Karaage and Hana Yasai. The night also features a signature drink. Due to the limited capacity of the Ba Lounge, early arrival is urged. Overflow in the main bar and restaurant area will be available throughout the night. 8pm

Yoga Night at the Rowdies

Come out and join the BE for their annual “Yoga on the Pitch” hosted by Tampa Bay Rowdies! Amanda Riker will be leading an all levels vinyasa flow, that’s suitable for the whole family. Along with your class, you will receive a seat at the game with your fellow yogis to cheer on The Rowdies. Check-ins for class will be held at Gate 5 starting at 3:30pm, class begins at 4pm, bring your mat and some water. Stick around after class to join friends and family of The Body Electric Yoga Company for a post-class tailgate party. The BE family will have big tent setup with some drinks and snacks by donation, BYOB is encouraged. BE will be cheering at section 304 as the Rowdies take on Atlanta! Game kicks off at 7:30pm.

PARC’s 4th Annual Top Chefs
Top Chefs will delight guests with mouthwatering fare from top local restaurants with the best chefs in Tampa Bay. Chefs participating in the event partner with individuals from PARC’s Culinary Program. This innovative program trains individuals with developmental disabilities for future job opportunities in the local hospitality industry. 6pm.

Surly Feminist Sept Book Club in St. Pete
Friends, let’s read this book and have this talk. This will be so good for all of us. This book was highly recommended by several friends I know and trust. This discussion is facilitated by my friend Terri Lipsky Scott, Chair of the executive board of the Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American History Museum in St. Pete.
