The 7 Best Desserts in St. Petersburg, for National Dessert Day

smith and associates

How sweet it is to live in the Sunshine City. Seriously. The bakers in the Burg are serving up some of the most insanely sweet treats we’ve ever tasted. There’s literally a restaurant downtown where you can eat the dishes.

With that in mind, here are 5 of our favorite desserts to enjoy in St. Pete. Don’t agree with us? We welcome it! Let us know your favorite dessert in the city in the comments so we can A) try it, and B) feature it in our next dessert list.

Halo-Halo, Pinoy St. Pete

Beautiful ube ice cream, seductive squares of flan, shaved ice and more combine to create an absolutely delightful treat. It’s an absolute rainbow of flavor now available at downtown’s first Filipino Restaurant.

Apple Cider Donuts, Beans & Barlour

Is a donut dessert? It can be. And Beans & Barlour’s flavorful fall special is everything we crave this time of year. The boozy sweets at Beans & Barlour are impossible to resist — especially when combines with sweet cider donut holes. A close second is the seasonal cinnamon whiskey pumpkin pie ice cream topped with graham cracker crumbles. We’re hungry just typing about it.

This restaurant is so sweet you can even eat the dishes — the chocolate ones that is.

Golden Mylk CBD Ice Cream, Plant Love Ice Cream

It’s endless summer in St. Petersburg, so ice cream is a must. Plant Love Ice Cream is the plant-based ice cream shop on Central Avenue. The Golden Mylk scoop pure, bright, relaxing joy – but you really can’t go wrong with really any fo the flavors.

Golden Mylk almost has a cake batter flavor with a autumnal finish. You can also get the scoop on a gluten-free cone (which is great for this blogger).

Basically everything, Valhalla Bakery

Valhalla Bakery is cravings Central in the Sunshine City. Massive donuts, tall slices of cake, even Terry’s chocolate treats have appeared on the menu. Just one scroll through Valhalla’s Instagram feed is enough to inspire your taste buds.

The red velvet mocha cake, the raspberry donut, almond horns, Oreo cream filled donuts, and giant soft pretzels are just a few of the must try items.

Give this badass women-owned business a visit.

Apple Crisp Cupcake, Grateful Bakes

These mini cupcakes pack serious flavor. You’ll feel like you’ve devoured an entire orchard with just one bites.

Everything Grateful Bakes creates is made to order. The Dulche de Leche, Lemon Love and Pumpkin Pie flavors are all divine. You can place an order for sweets online.

Carrot Cake, Craft Kafe

This gluten-free bakery is a dessert powerhouse. It’s very hard to pick just one item we love the most here. The apple brown Betty’s are pheNOMenal. The rugelach is a classic we always crave. All of their cheesecake slices and hand pies are out of this world. But none stands above the carrot cake cupcake.

It’s old school. The cream cheese frosting has an all too smooth consistency. The cake itself is perfectly moist, with an undeniable spice that harkens the holidays. Pair that with a matcha latte mixed with a bit of honey and you’ve just mastered the art of the dessert.

Cupcakes, Adieu Glu

This is a 100% gluten-free cottage kitchen concept, that can also cater to vegan diners as well. The sour dough baguette is SO SO SO good. The giant chocolate chip cookies are totally divine, and even have a slight savory kick to them. But the gorgeous chocolate gluten-free cupcakes with delicate cream cheese frosting are just divine. Yes, they look just like flowers and they are nearly too pretty to eat.
