One of St. Pete’s most scenic events is back for a third year. The St. Pete Pier Run is a four-mile run or walk along the downtown pier and waterfront, taking place on the 4th of July.

Hosted by St. Pete Run Fest, the stunning course is the perfect way to start Independence Day, with the first wave beginning at 6:30 am and the second at 7:45 am. The entry fee is $50 through the end of June, and goes up to $55 beginning July 1. Registration is available here.

In addition to the run or walk, there is also a pie eating contest after the second wave, a costume contest for all runners, and all participants in the St. Pete Pier Run will receive a Pier Run bib with timing chip, a custom finisher medal, food from Bolay Fresh Bold Kitchen, local craft beer, and more. The run also benefits the St. Pete Youth Farm.

As for the run itself, the beautiful, flat and fast course begins on the St. Pete Pier near Spa Beach Park, goes along the scenic St. Pete waterfront, and finishes on the Pier. The course is closed to traffic and is limited to 1,200 runners per wave, so sign up now before spots run out. There will be one hydration station on the course.

Looking for more? Try the 2×4 Challenge. Run Wave 1 at 6:30, and then Wave 2 at 7:45, for an 8 mile total run. The 2×4 Challenge participants will receive one run bib and two medals – the Pier Run finishers medal, and a special 2×4 Challenge medal.

Following the run, stick around for the after party featuring live music, the pie eating contest, medals, food, and craft beer from Green Bench and 3 Daughters. The event is “Ocean Friendly” and will not allow single use plastics or styrofoams, with a portion of the proceeds donated to cleaning our waterways.
