Excitement is building in Pinellas Park as officials just broke ground on the highly anticipated 40-acre sports facility along 66th Avenue North: Sprowls Horizon Sports Park (officially located at 4100 N 66th Avenue).
The new complex, named in honor of Florida’s former Speaker of the House Chris Sprowls, will feature up to six state-of-the-art fields, catering to a wide range of sports including baseball, softball, soccer, and hockey.

Originally, the city had planned to renovate the existing park, but a generous grant from the state made these major upgrades possible. With an estimated cost of $30 million, the facility is slated to open in Summer 2025.
Pinellas Park is gearing up to welcome athletes from across the country, who are expected to flock to these new fields. This influx of visitors will not only elevate the local sports scene but also provide a significant boost to the economy.
