After undergoing a complete rebuild, the beautiful and expansive new Shore Acres Recreation Center is now open, celebrating with a ribbon cutting this Saturday. The new center is a sprawling 21,064-square foot, two-story facility that will offer tons of great programming and activities to residents in the Shore Acres community and all throughout St. Pete.
The newest project from the City of St. Pete and St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation will become a shiny new hub for events, activities, classes, athletics and leisure for children and adults alike. Just in time for summer, the facility includes a sparkling six-lane swimming pool open every weekday.

Play pickleball or take a Tae Kwon Do class at the new complex
More offerings at the new facility include:
- An indoor gymnasium with leagues and “open gym” hours for basketball, volleyball, pickleball and more.
- Programming for youth and adults, including yoga, Tae Kwon Do, dog obedience, sewing, youth seasonal camps and before and after school childcare.
- A teen room with projector for movies, rec games (ping pong, pool table), video games, arcade games and tutoring room.
- A Discovery Room for arts and crafts, two multipurpose rooms, a catering kitchen and a conference room that the public can rent.
