Samurai Cat Japanese cafe and bakery is now open in downtown St. Pete

A fun and slightly mysterious restaurant is now open at 407 Central Avenue, the former home of Beans & Barlour: Samurai Cat. This spot garnered some local buzz in the winter when a video of a chef in a Cat mask in front of a cartoon kitchen background let the public know it was coming to the Sunshine City.

“Hold onto your onigiri! Something fun (and delicious) is sneaking into Downtown St. Pete very, very soon 👀😹” wrote the restaurant team on Instagram. The restaurant will be open daily from 8am-8pm during its soft opening phase.

The restaurant offers boba tea, Japanese coffee, Japanese fruit sandwiches, and onigiri. We are in talks with the restaurant team now, and have sent inquiries to the ownership team for comment. We will update this story as more details become available.

Follow Samurai Cat (and watch their announcement videos) on Instagram. The latest reel is giving Aqua Teen Hunger Force vibes and we love it.
