A new spot coming to St. Pete may offer the perfect combination for families – a way for children to use their energy, and a way for parents to get more energy. Run & Play Kids Cafe is a kid-friendly cafe featuring great coffee and tasty eats, as well as fun for all ages, with a targeted opening date this April at 3950 Central Avenue.
The family-friendly concept is a joint venture between Runrun Kids Store and mobile coffee truck Bean Wandering, bringing fun for kids and parents alike. Runrun is already open now, right next door at 3962 Central Avenue, and this new cafe will offer a perfect venue to enjoy their wares.

The new cafe will actually combine both locations by knocking down the wall in Runrun to open the space entirely. There will be a paid play area for kids in the middle, with kids-and-adults seating area on one side, and an adults-only side of the cafe for anyone to relax or get some work done. In fact, they are working an interior play room designer, Four Little Pigs, to custom build play structures that promote motor skills and also organically separate the space into one area for the youngsters and another for those 4 and older.
Run & Play will also have a party room where kids and their families can celebrate birthdays. Regular events will be held as well, as they are working with a variety of local kid-focused businesses and organizations to create fun and helpful activities.
Runrun Kids Store got its start at the St. Pete Pier, founded by a local mom, and just had its grand opening in Grand Central a few months ago. Their collection of great toys and clothing for kids has been an instant hit since being introduced to the area. Bean Wandering has become a favorite locally for pop-up lattes, private events, and baked goodies, and we’re excited to see their early success as a mobile cafe translate into a brick-and-mortar destination.
