A slice of paradise has arrived in St. Pete. Rumba Island Bar and Grill, a popular Clearwater restaurant, is bringing its Caribbean fare and a tiki-fueled happy hours to the Burg. The St. Pete location soft opened at 6445 4th Street North last weekend, now fully open for business every day for lunch and dinner beginning at 11:30 am.

Taking pride in their “island cuisine,” Rumba has an expansive food menu of seafood-forward appetizers, hefty sandwiches, rice bowls, meaty favorites from the fire pit, and fresh-catch seafood direct from their own fleet of dayboats or flown-in fish. Rumba also offers a daytime lunch menu, kids menu, extensive list of sides, and flavorful salads.

While the kitchen is the big draw at mealtime, Rumba is particularly beloved for its all day, every day happy hour. Seven days a week, from open to close, imbibers can enjoy two-for-one margaritas, sangrias, Rumba Island Signature Libations, and well cocktails. The bar features nearly a dozen tiki cocktails, as well, plus local craft beer, wine and domestics.

Highlights from the food menu include oysters, steamed mussels, jerk smoked chicken wings, Caribbean pulled pork sandwiches, stuffed mahi, shrimp and grits, coconut shrimp, and fire-smoked meats such as steak, ribs, pineapple rum chicken, and pulled pork platters.

Rumba is operated by Baystar Restaurant Group, the organization behind other Tampa Bay favorites like Salt Rock Grill, Marina Cantina, Poke Havana, Salt Cracker Fish Camp, and Salt Rock Tavern. Baystar has its own fleet of fishing boats it uses to supply all of its restaurants with fresh catch.
