For only the second time ever, Pinellas Park is set to host its own Pride Festival this weekend. Pride @ The Village takes place this Saturday, June 18 from 4-9 pm in the Pinellas Arts Village at 5663 Park Boulevard.

Pinellas Arts Village encompasses two blocks of studios and shops, and the sprawling Pride Festival will feature all-star entertainers, a massive market, food trucks, live music, and much more. The festival is being headlined by Coco Montrese of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 and All Stars 2 as well as Drag Race Lives, Las Vegas.

The festival will be emceed by the beloved Daphne Ferraro, and highlighted entertainers include Kori Stevens, Aquariius and Georgia Moore. Additionally, the first-ever Miss Pinellas Pride @ The Village will be officially crowned as part of the festivities.

In 2021, the Arts Village made history by hosting Pinellas Park’s first-ever Pride festival, drawing in more than 2,000 attendees and featuring 100 different vendors. Organizers say they expect this year’s event to be even bigger than the inaugural celebration. More information can be found on the Village’s facebook page.

Pinellas Arts Village is an arts mecca in Pinellas Park

As a self-described “blooming arts mecca” in the heart of Pinellas Park, the colorful and eclectic Pinellas Arts Village spans the entirety of the 5600 and 5700 blocks of Park Boulevard. The area is home to studios, galleries, shops, and restaurants, and it also features the headquarters of the Pinellas Park Art Society, which houses art from all variety of media.

In addition to special events, such as Pride @ The Village, the neighborhood also hosts regular Saturday Art Walks. Famed St. Pete muralist Derek Donnelly, founder of Saint Paint Arts, hosts his Donnelly COVE gallery and studio on the block, while Clayton Swartz’s unique metal sculpture designs are on display in Swartz Gallery also in the Village.

The Pompei Monster Factory and the Studios at 5663 provide more excellent art venues, while spots like Bottles Pub and The Complete Sweet Shoppe offer enjoyment in the form of food, drink and candy.
