The Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties announced today that it is submitting a proposal to bring 44 owner-occupied townhomes to midtown St. Pete. The proposed community, called Pelican Place, would offer affordable homeownership for families and individuals making between 30-80% of the area’s median income.

Details of the proposal call for construction in the lot at the corner of 21st St and 18th Ave South, across from the Tangerine Plaza in the Deuces District. Renderings of Pelican Place show several rows of three-story townhomes, complete with a ground-level garage for each one. Extra parking spots and well as green spaces are part of the plan.
