Postcard Inn unveils pop-up ice curling rink on St. Pete Beach

The Grinch ice curling on the beach

Our favorite sport from the Winter Olympics is coming to the beach for the holidays. Beginning today, December 19, Postcard Inn on the Beach is bringing ice curling to St. Pete Beach.

A cousin of St. Pete favorite shuffleboard, ice curling has gained cult fanaticism in recent years, though the stone-tossing sport does have that unfortunate requirement that’s hard to come by in Florida – ice. To make it work, Postcard Inn is setting up a simulated ice curling rink in its garden (conveniently located next to the fire pit), giving locals a chance to try their hand at the popular sport.

The curling rink is open daily from 10 am – 8 pm now through January 21, giving guests an opportunity to enjoy a holiday-themed cocktail as they play, with the fire pit nearby for those cool winter nights. To book your time slot, call (727) 367-2711 or stop by to see if any spots are currently open.

And speaking of PCI, the popular beach bar is hosting a wild New Year’s Eve party this year. “St. Pete 2 Ibiza” takes over the pool bar from 12-7 pm on December 31, with three different DJs spinning tunes by the water. We also recommend checking out PCI’s new brunch menu – it’s one of the best on the beach. Postcard Inn is located at 6300 Gulf Blvd.
