St. Pete born business, Pacific Counter, expanding to city’s super popular shopping plaza

Pacific Counter will open in early 2025 in the space formerly occupied by Island Fin Poke

Pacific Counter is one of the most popular lunch destinations in St. Pete. The poke bowl innovators are expanding again, this time to the extremely busy Northeast Park Shopping Center, right between Crunch Fitness and Publix at 210 37th Ave N. Pacific Counter is one of the spots that consistently ranks as one of the best restaurants in St. Pete. It’s up there with Casita Taqueria and Twisted Indian as my consummate go-to joints.

Pacific Counter is famous for its sweet pineapple whip, spam musubi, and big poke bowls. I highly recommend adding the kimchi to whatever bowl or sushi-burrito you build.

Poke bowls, Hawaiian hot dogs, and sushi burritos on the menu

Their California Glizzy…or hot dog is also phenomenal. I think it’s the King’s Hawaiian rolls that make those handheld treasures so special.

The locally owned small business began nearly seven years ago at 660 Central Avenue and has since expanded to include hubs in South Tampa, Downtown Tampa, and Sarasota. More restaurants are coming soon.

7 years of good eats in the Sunshine City

My go-to order: glass noodles and mixed greens, double up on tofu, then carrots, edamame, sprouts, shroms, and slaw with the OG poke sauce.

Founded in 2018 by Tanner Loebel, Tock Noythanongsay, and Eric Bialik, Pacific Counter began with a desire to serve health-conscious, flavorful, and customizable dining options in the rapidly growing downtown St. Pete area. Their decades of experience in the industry before launching Pacific Counter have helped make it such a staple in the Sunshine City and beyond.
