The revitalization of the 700 Block
The Burg’s grocery game is on point. A bevy of local farmers markets, along with the presence of major stores like Trader Joe’s and Publix, continue to provide residents with tons of options when they’re looking to stock their refrigerator. Soon, downtown residents and visitors will gain even more convenient access to the ever-growing Publix with the addition of its second downtown store on the 700 Block of Central Avenue.

30,000 sq. ft. Publix to join Chihuly Collection this spring
The new store is modest in size, roughly 30,000 square feet, and will feature a three-floor parking garage above it. The Publix will complement the recently opened Chihuly Collection, which completed its transition from Beach Drive to Central Avenue in October 2016. With tons of new residential units in the works for downtown we’re sure the new location won’t be want of customers.
New residential units bookend the block’s growth
The Hermitage — part of the overall 700 Block vision — is putting the final touches on its construction as residents begin to move in. The new Publix should be open within the first two weeks of March; however, no official opening date has been set.
