Mother’s Day in St. Pete: Brunches, tea times, and more

With Mother’s Day coming up, there are plenty of ways show Mom how much you love her in and around St. Pete. Here are some ideas for how you can lift up the women in your life, from waterfront brunches to daytime markets and painting activities.

Beach Drive’s resident French restaurant is celebrating with a specialty Mother’s Day brunch menu in addition to their regular brunch menu. Take your pick from their Mom’s Heart smoothie and muffin pairing, Frittata Mama, Blue Crab Cake Benedict, and more.

The Don Cesar

Treat Mom to a brunch buffet she won’t soon forget at The Don Cesar. Located within their King Charles Ballroom, you’ll enjoy delectable dishes, including all of the familiar brunch classics as well as decadent desserts.

The Vinoy Resort and Golf Club

A St. Pete icon, The Vinoy is offering an indulgent spread for all moms. From 10am-2pm, their Mother’s Day brunch will feature a pink pancake station, savory food station, seafood displays, and live music. The Vinoy also hosts History and High Tea tours every Sunday. Reserve spots for you and Mom to stroll through their History Gallery while enjoying tea, finger sandwiches, baked scones, and treats from the Vinoy pastry team.

What better way to celebrate Mom than brunch on the beach? Island Grand Beach Resort is offering a Mother’s Day brunch from 11am-3pm with tasty appetizers, sweet and savory breakfast offerings, a carving station, pasta bar, entrees and salads, plus dessert bar. Upgrade your ticket to the beverage package for bottomless bubbles, mimosas, Blood Marys, wine, and beer.

With seating from 10am all the way through 5pm, this might be St. Pete’s latest Mother’s Day brunch offering. Come for a truly unique experience in the Albert Whitted Airport and enjoy their menu of Eggs Benedict, Frittata, Pancakes, Pesto Grilled Salmon, Sliced Hangar Steak, and more.

Museum of Motherhood

Free and open to the public by donation, the Museum of Motherhood is located inside The Factory. The museum is devoted to the art, science, and history of women, m/others, and families. If you’re wanting to celebrate Mom a bit early this year, be sure to attend their Mamapalooza Family Festival on May 4 for interactive art installations, family-friendly activities, and local vendors.

The Chattaway Afternoon Tea

For traditional English high tea, look no further than the historic Chattaway. By reservation only, their afternoon tea offerings include sandwiches, scones, crumpets, clotted cream, desserts, and unlimited English tea.

Mother’s Day Flower Arranging Workshop

What Mom doesn’t love a good walk? And this one includes gallery openings and exhibitions, interactive storytelling activities, film screenings, and more all in the Warehouse Arts District.

Practically Pikasso Workshops

The St. Pete art studio Practically Pikasso is offering a range of events this year dedicated to all moms. On Mother’s Day, their Wheel Try It Experience is a wheel introduction to throwing clay on the pottery wheel. They’re also hosting a Mug Handbuilding Class, which teaches how to build your own mug. Want to treat Mom to some quiet time? Book her one of their Moms Night Out Pottery Wheel classes, taking place on May 10 and May 11.

Mother Pupper’s Day at The Dog Bar

Whether you’re a Dog Mom or just don’t want to leave your furry companions at home this Mother’s Day, all dogs are welcome at The Dog Bar’s Mother Pupper’s Day event. With a $10 donation, craft supplies are provided so your pups can paint their own masterpiece.
