The 2025 MLK Dream Big Parade and Educational Band Showcase promises to unite diverse communities to honor Dr. King’s legacy while celebrating unity, music, and progress. It all takes place January 17-20, with the annual MLK Dream Big Educational Band Showcase at Gibbs High, 850 34th St. S, on January 19.
The festivities will kick off with the showcase at 4 p.m., highlighting music’s future and the talented youth who will shape it. College bands from across the nation will take the stage, offering an exciting preview of tomorrow’s musical stars. Groups from prestigious institutions like Florida A&M University (FAMU), Tuskegee University, Savannah State University, and Albany State University will perform, showcasing the depth of talent propelling the next generation of musicians.

Tickets for the showcase are available daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Advantage Village Academy, 833 22nd St. S. On Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, the much-anticipated MLK Dream Big Parade will bring the streets of downtown St. Petersburg to life. The parade runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning at 3rd St. S and 1st Ave. S and culminating at Tropicana Field. The event promises to celebrate cultural diversity, featuring an array of floats, marching bands, and artistic performances.
