Mickey’s Cafe donates 1,000 Cosmickey Cookies to nurses and doctors in St. Pete

Mickey’s Cafe donates 1,000 Cosmickey Cookies to nurses and doctors in St. Pete

Buy a cookie, give a cookie. It’s a simple message that’s making a wonderful difference here in the ‘Burg. At the outset of the pandemic, the locally owned and operated Mickey’s Cafe and Organics launched a campaign to provide something sweet for the doctors and nurses working exhaustively to protect and heal the community.

This week, Mickey delivered his 1,000th cookie to St. Anthony’s Hospital. For the uninitiated, these massive cookies are the stuff of Saturday Morning Market legend.

Mickey Paleologos started up the first organic restaurant in downtown St. Petersburg back in 2005. He has been working in the health food business ever since, bringing fresh organic ingredients, sourced locally when possible, to your table. Mickey’s Cafe & Organics is modeled after his original restaurant, serving colourful salads, wraps, housemade soups, fresh squeezed juices, smoothies and a full espresso bar.

You can still support the cookie cause. Head downtown and treat yourself to the incredible cookie, and help give something back to those keeping all of us safe.

Mickey’s Cafe is located at 318 Central Avenue in downtown St. Pete. Follow the cafe on Facebook for a taste of what it has to offer.

My personal favorite order at Mickey’s is the Turkey Pesto Spinach Wrap with a passion fruit kombucha, and of course a cookie for dessert.
