St. Pete’s newest waterfront bar won’t be opening its doors any time soon, but that’s just because it doesn’t have any. La Cabana is set to debut its open air bar and lounge this Friday, January 6, on Gandy Boulevard, bringing decadent cocktails, cigars, desserts and more to the Tampa Bay waterfront. The bar will be open from 4-10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
La Cabana is the nighttime concept of Patrona Coastal Cafe, the beautiful café open during the day, both located at 13090 Gandy Boulevard North. The picturesque setting is home to tasty coffee every morning, but La Cabana says in its tagline, “evenings should be interesting.”

La Cabana promises premium cigars, whiskeys, rums and desserts under the palms (and under the stars). The lounge has also teased a variety of cocktails, with a decidedly tropical influence. Offerings will be fitting for the relaxed and beachy vibe featuring tables nestled under palm trees and colorful sails.
Of course, the big theme at La Cabana won’t be about the location, but the experience. The bar and lounge will provide opportunities to savor the evening, with friends, family, or solo. The focus is on whiskeys and rums meant to be sipped slowly, neat or on ice. And of course, paired with either a rich dessert or smoky cigar (or both, if you’re feeling frisky.)
The bar and lounge recently unveiled its drinks and desserts menus, and the cocktail list is full of classics such as palomas, old fashioneds, espresso martinis, mai tais, mojitos, and Miami mules. There is also a variety of whiskeys, rums, tequilas and more spirits available in straight pours, as well as a hefty selection of cigars.

Meanwhile, the decadent dessert list offers plenty of temptations itself. Offerings include coconut affogato, key lime pie, Reese’s peanut butter pie, and a lemon Italian cream torte. La Cabana also offers a small selection of wine and beer.
