The best thing about good food trucks is, of course, the food. The worst thing about your favorite food trucks, though, is knowing where – and when – to find them. That’s why it’s always great news when these vehicles for tasty calories sets up permanent residence.
Oh, and did we mention it’s even better when those food trucks set up shop next to great beer? Jim’s Eats and Treats is one of the best St. Pete food trucks to bring the goods on a daily basis, now open seven days a week at Pinellas Ale Works in the Grand Central District.

Promising “comfort food with attitude,” the food truck set up in PAW’s beer garden brings big time flavor in its indulgent offerings, often incorporating the fantastic craft beers the brewery is loved for. In addition to regular rotating specials, Jim’s Eats and Treats is known for favorites like its deep-fried mac and cheese, chipotle chicken dip, and the tremendously flavorful grilled stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon.
For something to share, grab the heaping plate of Smoke Dog Nachos featuring tortilla chips loaded with slow-roasted pork (or black beans), pico, and the house-made beer cheese created using PAW’s Smoke Dog Ale. The delicious beer cheese always pairs perfectly with the oversized soft-baked pretzels.
St. Pete’s food truck scene delivers tasty eats all over
Of course, Jim’s Eats and Treats also has standards like grilled paninis, tacos and hand battered chicken tenders with fries. For dessert, try out some deep-fried oreos paired with a nice stout.
Jim’s Eats and Treats is open from 5-9 pm Monday-Thursday, 2-10 pm Friday and Saturday, and 1-7 pm on Sunday. It is located in the Pinellas Ale Works beer garden at 1962 1st Avenue South.
Looking for more permanent-food-truck-goodness in the neighborhood? Head down the street to Par Bar and check out Shisho Crispy, the Asian food truck that’s one of our favorite places to eat in St. Pete in a truck or otherwise. The hand-rolled dumplings are borderline life changing, and the lineup of bao buns, sticky rice dishes and made-to-order lobster Rangoon means they have something for everyone.
