Tickets for Hamlet, the final directorial production of the inimitable Bob Devin Jones of the Studio@620, are now on sale. The performances promise to be a poignant farewell for the distinguished Artistic Director who is widely credited with putting St. Petersburg on the artistic map when he and the late Dave Ellis founded the Studio@620 twenty years ago. Erica Sutherlin was recently named as Jones’ successor as Artistic Director.

Remarking upon his decision to direct Hamlet for a third and final time, Jones said “I find the play artistically the most daunting thing I ever do, so I thought I would ascend the mountain one more time.” Hamlet is a profound exploration of life’s complexities, betrayal, and the pursuit of justice amidst existential turmoil and remains as powerful today as it did when Shakespeare wrote it over four centuries ago.

The production features a world-class, yet home-grown, cast. St. Petersburg native John Bambery, recently back in town after more than a decade of performing in theaters around the world, will play the lead role, while local favorites David Warner and Tiffany Faykus will play King Claudius and Queen Gertrude. The rest of the cast is rounded out by Dylan Barlowe as Laertes, Chad Jacobs as Horatio, Aenea Little as Ophelia, Anthony Gervais as Rosencrantz, and Lance Felton as Guildenstern.

The preview performance is on Thursday, April 25 at 7:00 pm (all preview performance seats $35) while regular performances run  April 26 – May 5 on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM. Ticket prices for regular performances are General Admission $50, Studio Member Admission $45.

Tickets for “Hamlet” can be purchased online. The Studio@620 is located at 620 1st Ave. S. in St. Pete.
