Get ready, St. Pete! A popular Tampa taco spot is coming to the neighborhood this fall. Guac n’ Cheese Mexican Grill is set to open at CoHatch St. Pete (15 8th St N), taking over the space formerly occupied by King State. According to their Instagram, the restaurant will soft open on October 30.
In a recent social media post, the owners shared, “Your favorite Tampa taco spot is coming to your neighborhood this fall!” The accompanying hype video offers a mouth-watering preview, showcasing big quesadillas, tacos packed with guac, cheese, pico de gallo, and a selection of refreshing drinks like beers, margaritas, and sangria.

There’s already plenty of buzz around this new location. Guac n’ Cheese is well-known in Tampa, where they operate a popular spot at 4101 S MacDill Ave. The restaurant is famous for its Guac N Cheese Fajitas—sizzling sautéed onions and peppers served with your choice of tortillas, rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, guac, and pico.
Specialty dishes include carne asada, tamales, fish tacos, and salmon enchiladas. The Tampa menu also highlights the Molcajete, a hot lava rock bowl filled with sizzling shrimp, peppers, melted cheese, and other proteins.
