No matter what your dining preferences, this is one burger everyone in town can agree on. The 12th Annual Good ‘Burger Awards, presented by the Bank of Tampa and Compass Land & Title, are back for 2024, celebrating the people and businesses that make St. Pete so great. The party takes place on Wednesday, November 13, from 5-8 p.m. at The Floridian Social.
Tickets are available now for the celebration, which includes live entertainment, food and drinks, networking, and a high-energy atmosphere showcasing the best of St. Pete. General Admission tickets are $45, and VIP tickets are $90, which include access to a VIP Reception held before the Good ‘Burger Awards and access to the VIP balcony throughout the event, with light bites and an open bar.
This year, the awards take on special meaning in the wake of recent storms affecting the city. The 2024 Good ‘Burger Awards will focus on honoring individuals and organizations that went above and beyond to support the community during these challenges. As part of the community-wide celebration, all businesses nominated will receive an award, and all first responders are invited to attend the party free of charge.
“The hurricanes tested our strength, but the way our neighbors, businesses, and organizations came together is something we feel needs to be recognized,” organizers said. “So instead of rescheduling, we’re simply changing the programming.”
Hosted by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, this annual event is a two-part celebration. First comes the voting portion, which has already concluded, followed by the awards gala. Named after a former mayor who called St. Pete citizens “burgers,” the Good ‘Burger Awards honor any St. Pete business, individual, or organization (not just Chamber members) that contributes positively to the community.
Award categories include Eats and Treats, Arts and Culture, Community Conscious Businesses, Makers and Creators, and New Biz on the Block, among others. The marquee awards are The Sunshine Award, honoring champions of positive change, and the MVB (Most Valuable ‘Burger), given to an individual making a significant impact in the community.
The awards ceremony is one of St. Pete’s biggest annual parties, a full-on gala complete with live performances, giveaways, and food and drinks from some of the city’s best restaurants, bars, and breweries. Tickets for the event are available online now.
