Clearwater is shining once again, and its iconic restaurants are bouncing back stronger than ever. Frenchy’s Saltwater Café (419 Poinsettia Ave), a beloved seafood haven, has reopened after hurricanes Helene and Milton. Originally opening its doors approximately 35 years ago, the cafécontinues to delight locals and tourists alike with fresh flavors and a laid-back beach vibe. Frenchy’s is famous for its Super Grouper sandwich — and it offers the quintessential seafood shack experience for anyone craving a taste of Clearwater’s coast.

Frenchy’s Saltwater Café brings family-friendly, open-air dining with a spacious wraparound patio. The casual atmosphere invites guests to unwind, sip cold drinks, and enjoy fresh seafood right near the water. At Frenchy’s, the menu goes beyond the usual, featuring unique creations like the signature Grouper Reuben, tender octopus dishes, crispy conch fritters, and spicy buffalo shrimp.

The café’s recent patio remodel adds stylish upgrades while welcoming four-legged friends, making it a perfect spot for families, friends, and pets alike. Frenchy’s has crafted a spot where both locals and visitors can find familiar flavors with an unexpected twist in every bite.

According to a recent Facebook post, the original location is also officially back open.

Frenchy’s history on Clearwater Beach dates back to 1981 when Michael “Frenchy” Preston opened his first restaurant to serve fresh seafood to beachgoers. With its success, Frenchy’s expanded, opening four more locations and establishing Frenchy’s Seafood Company to ensure quality fish from boat to table.

Though Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill is still recovering, the beloved family of restaurants embodies the resilient spirit of Clearwater. Follow Frenchy’s on social media for updates as it continues to serve fresh Gulf seafood with charm and flavor.
