Get your healthy eating in now, because a day full of indulgent delights is coming to St. Pete. The 5th-annual St. Pete French Fry Festival is making its grand return this Friday, April 7 from 5-10 pm in Albert Whitted Park.

The annual celebration of spuds brings dozens of area food trucks to the waterfront for a free festival where each food truck will showcase specialty fry dishes. There will also be craft beer on tap thanks to JJ Taylor Distributing, plus a live DJ keeping the music going all night.

The festival is open to all ages (and pets!), and picnic blankets and chairs are welcomed. No tickets are needed for the event, but IDs will be required to purchase beer. St. Pete French Fry Festival is hosted by Gulf to Bay Food Truck Association, in conjunction with the City of St. Petersburg.

While there will, of course, be good ol’ plain fries available, the fun of French Fry Fest is seeing what creative concoctions chefs come up with. For example, we know Casablanca Fusion will be dishing up loaded Moroccan fries topped with shaved ribeye steak, pico de gallo, cheese and crema. We’ve also seen a tease for spicy breakfast fries, covered in chopped bacon, jalapenos, and fried egg.
