Dooners Mediterranean Garden Restaurant
A popular fast food concept taking Europe by storm is coming soon to the St. Petersburg. A German family has purchased the restaurant formerly known as the Mediterranean Garden, which is being rennovated for a July opening as Dooners Mediterranean Garden. The name dooner comes from the roasted kebab meat the menu is centered around and features fresh ingredients, high quality meats as well as veggies and a naan style bread. The owners hope to have the place open by early July, hours will be 11am-9pm and they’ll be staying open till 3am on Friday and Saturday for the après-bar crowd. Dooners Mediterranean Garden will be located at 21 3rd St. N.

Update: New Restaurant on Beach Drive
We’ve learned that the new space undergoing extensive renovations on Beach Drive next to the recently opened MyYogurt Cafe is planning to offer a full bar with a tapas style menu and is likely to be called C’est La Vie. Look for a opening by mid-July. C’est La Vie will be located on the 200 Block of Beach Dr. N.E.

The Studio@620’s Bob Devin Jones is this month’s The Cake Factory at Perc Celebrity Chef. He’ll be cooking up a yummy omelet available for tasting from 10am-3pm this Sunday along with the usual menu items. New owner, Dave Delgado took over the restaurant, formerly known as Grand Central Perc, and merged it with his existing Cake Factory business.  The Cake Factory at Perc is located at 2444 Central Ave.

Brasserie Punch Card

Coming This Summer! Appropos
And now for a blast from the past! A downtown fave from the 1980’s, Apropos Restaurant and Catering, is returning to the downtown restaurant scene. Suzy Johnson, one of the original owners and creators is opening up in the Snell Arcade Building in the 400 block of Central Ave. Renovations have begun and the resto is scheduled to be open for business mid-June. Apropos will be open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday and will offer both inside and outdoor seating as well as take-out, delivery and catering. Their popular tomato basil tarts and tarragon chicken salad will be on the menu as well as new items.
