This $37.5 million project will be situated on an undeveloped lot at the southwest corner of 106th Avenue North and 4th Street North in the northern part of St. Pete

Pinellas County Housing Authority, Pinellas County, and the city of St. Pete have collaborated on and approved the Flats on 4th Development Project, addressing concerns over affordable housing for low-income seniors that earn approximately half of the area’s median income.

The project’s mid-rise building plans consist of 52 one-bedroom and 29 two-bedroom units. While the project’s goal is affordability, the project will not skimp on comforts. Each unit will be equipped with granite counter tops, energy efficient appliances, and community room. Such efforts ensure that senior residents can enjoy modern amenities.

The project will reserve a portion of the units for those using section-8 housing vouchers, so that even those struggling the most have access to dignified and comfortable housing. The Flats on 4th Development Project marks a new precedent for the city of St. Petersburg and signifies St. Petersburg’s widening commitment to equality and progress. The city is expected to contribute $4.35 million, and an additional $2.9 is expect from the Penny for Pinellas Program.

Construction of the Flats on 4th Project is scheduled to begin as early as the end of 2024 and finish by 2026.
