First Sight Eye Care brings a curated new look to St. Pete’s vision needs

Eye care in St. Pete is getting a stylish and fresh new look. First Sight Eye Care, which just opened at the end of 2022, has brought a new style to supporting the vision needs of locals, taking “the art of eye care” to new levels.

Located at 2126 1st Avenue South, you may have noticed First Sight by the beautiful “eye heart St. Pete” mural painted by Chad Mize, and that colorful greeting is symbolic of the experience inside the clinic.

In fact, “clinic” may be too formal of a description. While the highly trained and experienced staff certainly performs the work of a serious clinic, the First Sight team prides itself on creating a warm, welcoming and inviting atmosphere where you can feel comfortable with your care and your vision choices.

After all, when choosing frames, you’re picking what your face will look like every day. And when getting a contacts prescription, you’re deciding what to put in your eyes and just how clear your vision will be day in and day out. Being at ease for those moments is kind of important.

Of course, that’s only part of the experience. Another piece that sets First Sight apart is their attention to making sure those glasses you put on your face every day showcase the best of you. They’ve curated a stylish, eclectic and fashion-forward selection of frames that has something for everybody.

First Sight says they feel that “frames are an opportunity to make a statement, to enhance your beauty, and to expose your true colors.” The goal, they believe, is to provide more than just great vision.

However, the vision care itself is more than worthy of discussion. The team behind First Sight has decades of experience in professional ocular care, and they put those skills to good use. Dr. Amanda Geary, an Optometrist who graduated from the prestigious Southern College of Optometry, is the former President of the Pinellas Optometric Association, where she served for six years.

Between Dr. Geary, Optician Matthew Pennel, and Ophthalmic Technician Ieasha Larracuente, the first Sight Team brings unparalleled expertise and hospitality to the neighborhood. In addition to helping find the perfect frames, their services include comprehensive vision and eye health exams, contact lens exams and fittings, medical eye care services (including emergencies such as scratches, foreign bodies, or other trauma), and pediatric eye care for the kiddos.

In fact, there is an excellent opportunity to meet the team coming up soon. First Sight is celebrating its 1st anniversary with a neighborhood party on Thursday, December 8, from 5-8 pm. The One Year of First Sight Celebration will include a trunk show with Krewe and Paradigm Eyewear where frames will be discounted for one night only, as well as great drinks and live music by local musician Seth Campbell.
