Kahwa Coffee announced a new collaboration in partnership with Evan Longoria, the Signature Series No. 3. Proceeds from the new blend, hand-selected by the three-time All-Star, will benefit charities and causes, starting with Hurricane Irma relief efforts in Florida.
Longoria, a third baseman by trade, can now add coffee curator to his resume. Sourced from three high-quality beans and roasted by Kahwa Coffee in St. Petersburg, Florida, bags of No. 3 will be available at all 12 Tampa Bay Kahwa locations, online and at Tropicana Field, the home of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Sarah and Raphael Perrier, the husband and wife team behind Kahwa Coffee, hope to see the Signature Series become a regular collaboration with local partners for the good of Tampa Bay, and beyond.
“Evan has been a long-time Kahwa customer and we were quite familiar with his interest in local charities,” said Kahwa Co-Founder, Raphael. “As we both call Tampa Bay home, we’re incredibly excited to bring this project for the greater good to market.”
The project got off the ground with one simple tweet to @KahwaCoffee from Evan himself seeking the opportunity to meet the team behind the brand and explore possible collaborations. Kahwa looked to develop a versatile blend that would work well as an espresso, Evan’s preferred coffee drink, as well as drip or press.
“After visiting Kahwa’s roasting facility St. Pete, I was very impressed,” said Longoria. “They presented three options from a selection of beans, all delicious. The only difficult part was picking which one to go with. Together, with the team at Kahwa Coffee, we really nailed this blend and I just know fans of good coffee are going to love it. I’m proud to put my name on it.”
Through this project, Kahwa Coffee and Evan Longoria look to raise as much as $10,000 for the first phase of their collaboration.
