Same building – new tacos. Gulfport’s newest Mexican restaurant is now open, as The Drunken Taco made its debut in late 2022 at 2832 Beach Boulevard South. Keen observers may recognize the address as the former home of Sea Dog Cantina, but The Drunken Taco is a different concept from different owners.

In fact, this is now the second Drunken Taco location, as the original is a favorite in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The Tex-Mex restaurant of course offers many of the traditional favorites, but they are also loved for their all-day happy hour and a tequila list totaling 301 different bottles.

The appetizer list at The Drunken Taco includes the expected items like guac, queso dip and nachos, but also dishes up starters such as fried yucca sticks, smoked mahi fish dip, blackened fish bites, and even chicken wings. The entrees include everything from burritos, fajitas and taco salads, to burgers, ribs and chicken sandwiches.

Of course, the star of the show is the taco menu, where eight different styles of street taco come in pairs alongside beans and rice. Options range from Korean BBQ chicken, shrimp, or fish, to Cuban steak, chicken teriyaki, and their “famous” baja chicken tacos.

As for that all-day happy hour, loading up on tacos may be necessary, as 2-for-1 giant margaritas are available at all times, as well as $4 beer pints and $7 double vodkas. Or, for $35, you can get five beers and five tequila shots. Oh, and all of the 301 tequilas are available in 2-for-1 tastings. Mercy. Get your salt and lime ready.
