We at I Love the Burg had heard the rumors and hoped that they’d be true. Yesterday, the Tampa Bay Times confirmed it. St. Pete Datz lovers, your commute over the bridge will soon be over. The Tampa-based foodie hub plans to open up shop next to the upcoming Tom James Museum.
According to the Times, Datz is scheduled for a spring 2018 opening. Located at 180 Central Ave, the new restaurant will adjoin the Tom James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art. In addition to the new location, there will also be a small Datz cafe inside the museum.

To ensure the new restaurant will have a similar look and feel to the original, the menu will be identical and several core staff member will relocate to the new location.
Originally opened in 2009, Datz is an award-winning restaurant and has been featured on Good Morning America, Travel Channel, Food Network and Cooking Channel. Known for its inventive comfort food, the restaurant features a seasonally rotating menu that spotlights bacon, cheese and house-made breads.
