Burg Night Out @ the Movies: The Grey

With a very respectable 78% on the Tomatometer, The Grey pushes up the testosterone to maximum peaks, whlie still managing to be a think piece. It’s not enough that it’s a survival story–about a group of rough oil riggers struggling to survive in the hostile Alaskan wilderness in the dead of winter–director Joe Carnahan has to throw a pack of hungry, CGI-powered wolves into the mix.

According to Thomas Caldwell, of  Cinema Autopsy, that’s not all the Grey’s got going for it:
"This is not [just] a gritty realistic survival film, but a film that functions on a mythical level to explore the meaning of life, the existence of God and the hubris of humanity."
