We love a local success story, and seeing independent St. Pete businesses grow is a sign of what the city is all about. Downtown men’s apparel and lifestyle shop Atlas Body + Home, which celebrates its five-year anniversary today, announced that it will be opening a second location in South St. Pete this spring on the shores of Tampa Bay in the Greater Pinellas Point neighborhood.

The new store for Atlas will be inside the upcoming SkyBeach Hotel (a new resort opening on the former Magnuson Hotel property) at 6800 Sunshine Skyway Lane South. Part of what makes this new venture so exciting is that, for the first time, Atlas will offer a wide range of women’s apparel alongside its celebrated men’s selection.

Given its location at SkyBeach Hotel, the new store will go heavy on colorful and resort-focused apparel, though regular Atlas fans know that colorful and fashionable clothing is nothing new. The apparel will be supplemented by swimwear, vacation essentials, jewelry, suncare, and other home and body accessories.

Atlas will continue carrying its popular core brands like Marine Layer, Tori Richard, and OAS. They will also take this opportunity to bring in trendy new lines such as Vitamin A, the popular women’s swimsuit brand.

This new Atlas location will open alongside the hotel (stay tuned for updates there), which is expected to be in mid-April. However, for the dedicated shoppers, limited appointments are available on Fridays to visit and shop at the new boutique before it officially opens to the public. Atlas Body + Home is a St. Pete star

Tony Loeffler and Michael Griffin saw an opening for a curated men’s boutique in St. Pete years ago, and in short order, they brought that vision to life. Atlas Body + Home officially opened five years ago at 919 Central Avenue, at a time when the now-bustling EDGE District was just beginning to really take off.

As the neighborhood – and all of St. Pete, really – has grown, so too has Atlas, becoming a Central Avenue stalwart. Loeffler and Griffin have also made sure the boutique store has had an active role in the community, supporting events and fellow businesses throughout their half-decade on the block.

This second location, coming right as Atlas celebrates the five-year milestone, is the perfect next step in their growth. It provides not only an opportunity to serve a new portion of the region, but to finally expand beyond just menswear.

“We’ve had so many women who have come in over the years and have asked if we’ll ever add women’s apparel,” Loeffler said. “So now we’re excited to have both.

“We’ve been looking for an opportunity like this for a few years,” he added. “It’s a way to express what we do in a different way and show our vibe to a new audience.”
