Located at 10001 66th St. N. Pinellas Park, and celebrating 40-years of business, Astro Skate offers fun for all ages. A few questions to vet the quality of a skate rink: is it pulsing neon? Check. Can I get pizza, popcorn, and an iced-slushie there? Check. Can I choose between inline blades and classic quad skates? Check. Is there an air-hockey table to play when my feet are tired from ripping on skates? Check. Will the seminal 1997 album “Backstreet’s Back” be pumped through the airwaves? I don’t know; I hope so.

Astro Skate passes the quality check. A family fun, day-or-night, skate oasis, complete with all the accoutrements for kids and nostalgia for parents. The best part is, this activity remains affordable: public skate sessions are $6 on Monday (including rental) and $8 + rental Tues – Sat, and Sunday cinches a super-saving $2 + rental skate session.

Astro Skate is a nostalgic indoor activity to enjoy this summer

If you are new to skating, Astro skate offers lessons for all ages. Here’s what they have to say about that: “Have you always wanted to spend the day at the roller skating rink but did not feel confident enough in your skating abilities? Have you been skating before but wanted to learn more advanced techniques? At Astro Skate, we believe that it is never too late to learn how to skate!”

At Astro Pinellas Park, beginner lessons are held on Saturday from 9am–10am for $10 (cost includes the lesson, rentals, and you can stay and skate all day).
