Around the Net: Local Historian on Oprah

Local historian and professor at USF St. Petersburg, Raymond Arsenault, appeared Wednesday, May 4th, as part of Oprah’s last season on air to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Freedom Riders, which is the same title of his book. The book recounts the efforts of a bi-racial group of civil rights activists in 1961 who challenged segregation by riding buses on their way to the South.
