The holiday season is getting merrier in St. Pete, thanks to the highly-anticipated winter lineup from American Stage. As the region’s longest-running and critically acclaimed professional theatre company, American Stage has announced a collection of can’t-miss shows and immersive experiences to light up the season. From heartfelt performances to interactive adventures, this lineup ensures there’s something for everyone.
Festivities begin December 5 with the one-person show Wonderful Life on the Raymond James Stage, running through December 22. Throughout December, American Stage transforms into Tinseltown USA, offering a magical, self-paced holiday adventure for all ages. Then, from January 30 to February 23, the interactive outdoor hit Tales By Twilight returns to Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, bringing storytelling to the great outdoors.

Wonderful Life
December 5–22
📍 Raymond James Stage, American Stage Theatre
Wonderful Life is a one-person retelling of Frank Capra’s timeless classic It’s a Wonderful Life. Featuring local favorite Gavin Hawk and Producing Artistic Director Helen R. Murray, this 75-minute show breathes new life into George Bailey’s story, as one actor portrays every beloved resident of Bedford Falls.
The production explores George’s struggle to grasp why life is worth living, taking audiences on an emotional journey filled with angels, alternate realities, and holiday miracles. Murray performs December 5–8, while Hawk takes the stage from December 12–22.
Tinseltown USA
December 5–22

During December, the entire American Stage theatre will transform into Tinseltown USA, an immersive holiday experience. Visitors can step into a magical winter wonderland, complete with interactive, self-paced holiday fun for all ages. Groups of up to 10 enter every 15 minutes, creating a festive adventure where families and friends can make cherished memories together.
Tales By Twilight
January 30–February 23
📍 Boyd Hill Nature Preserve
Following last year’s sold-out debut, Tales By Twilight makes its much-anticipated return. This interactive storytelling experience takes guests on a journey through the trails of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. Unlike traditional theatre, the entire preserve serves as the stage, and each performance unfolds as actors and guests traverse the grounds together.
Showtimes for this immersive production are Thursday through Saturday at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., with Sunday performances at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale December 24, and early booking is recommended as these unique experiences fill up quickly.
