Update: the Radix Collection fashion show has sold out, but individual pieces are still available online.
St. Pete is a city of artists, with the entire Tampa Bay Area fostering a metropolitan collection of creators, visionaries, and designers. A local company is bringing so many parts of that world into one place with a print-on-demand fashion line showcasing the work of those artists.
Founded by local art collector Jane Radix, Radix Collection (RX) is a print-on-demand fashion line that features the unique work of artists from St. Pete and all of Tampa Bay, and it has now begun its second season, showcasing three area artists. To kick off the new clothing line, RX is hosting a free fashion and art show on Sunday, January 21, from 4-6 pm at NOVA 535 in downtown Saint Pete. Space is limited and guests can RSVP here. UPDATE – this show has now sold out.
This second season debuts fashion items created with the work of local artists Derek Donnelly, Kris Meenan, and Saumitra, and the entire collection is now available online. To celebrate, the RX Fashion and Art Show will host a runway show (including more local artists as models), as well as an art show, all alongside great food and drink.
Festivities kick off with the art show at 4 pm, followed by a performance by local singer-songwriter Geri X at 4:30. The afternoon is capped by the runway show showcasing this season’s RX line, beginning at 5 pm.
Radix Collection fashion line supports local artists – and the environment
The primary goal of this venture isn’t to take the fashion world by storm (at least, it isn’t the *only* goal), but to support local arts. Each artist featured on the clothing items receives 50% of the profit from each item sold. Additionally, Radix employs an environmentally friendly print-on-demand approach to manufacturing that minimizes waste.
“Our mission is to share a piece of the art scene with you by delivering a curated collection of artwear that supports the success of local artists,” Radix says. “When you wear Radix Collection it’s a celebration of the joy that art brings to our world.”
Each piece during the fall and spring seasons has limited availability, meaning they are not only great pieces of fashion, but rare pieces to add to your lineup. You can see this season’s lineup and learn more about RX at radixcollection.com. RSVP for the free and fashion and art show here – space is limited.
