A new wine bar is coming to the Grand Central District next year

Consider this announcement equal parts cryptic and exciting. Spitz Wine Bar took to Instagram this week to announce itself, saying it will be opening its new concept in the Grand Central District sometime in 2024.

While the announcement didn’t offer many details – “more details to come” is one of the two sentences – we do know Spitz is promising “real wines” and “tasty bites,” as well as an opening date expected to be sometime in early-to-mid 2024. The new bar didn’t specify an address beyond being in Grand Central, though we’ve heard from reliable sources it will be going in at 2520 Central Avenue.

The bits we do know are that Spitz is being opened by a local group, and based on clues from their Instagram page, they seem to be well-connected in the local wine world. Spitz will be joining some of our favorites in the neighborhood, most notably Hawthorne Bottle Shoppe and their excellent wine and beer collection.
