St. Pete’s hometown theatre is celebrating its new season in style this year. St. Petersburg City Theatre, which has been serving the city for nearly 100 years, is movin’ and shakin’ the next two weeks ahead of its 2023-24 season.

This Friday, the theatre debuts All Shook Up, the award-winning Broadway musical that brings the music of Elvis Presley to life in an original story based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Opening night is Friday, March 17, and All Shook Up runs through March 26, with evening shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and Saturday matinees at 2 pm. Tickets are limited, and available here.

Meanwhile, St. Petersburg City Theatre also announced its 2023-24 lineup, with tickets going on sale later this month. Following All Shook Up, performances will break for the summer, before returning in high style this fall. Disney’s Mary Poppins The Broadway Musical will kick things off September 29 – October 8, a big start to an even bigger season.

In December, a holiday classic takes the stage for two weeks, as St. Petersburg City Theatre produces A Christmas Carol from December 8-17. And finally, in the spring of 2024, the season will conclude with the uproarious Don’t Dress for Dinner, the beloved comedy that got its start in London’s West End. Don’t Dress for Dinner will run March 15-24 2024.

The conclusion of the 2022-23 season with All Shook Up, along with the opening of the 2023-24 season, both mark the theatre’s unrivaled success and longevity. Established in 1925, the 98—year-old St. Petersburg City Theatre is the longest continuously running community theatre in the state of Florida.

Known for nearly 75 years as the St. Petersburg Little Theatre, SPCT is a non-profit that was founded to promote and create local theatre dedicated to teaching and training non-professional artists of any age. Putting on productions since 1925, their mission remains to enrich the individual lives and collective spirit of St. Pete’s diverse population through community-produced productions and educational experiences.

St. Petersburg City Theatre is located at 4025 31st Street South.
