The Crumb Factory (5701 Central Avenue) will open soon in West St. Petersburg.
The Crumb Factory first started as a cottage kitchen concept — and I was first made aware of it in the St. Pete Supper Club, a local group dedicated to supporting area restaurants. Owners Pablo Mardones and Felipe Zavala initially offered direct to door delivery via Instagram DM. The artisanal loaves are enchanting, and homage to Chile’s serious bread culture.

The Crumb Factory has made everything from fresh sourdough loaves and fig and walnut bread, to massive chocolate croissants. Sandwiches, tasty breakfast options, and delicious pastries will also be on the menu.
An opening timeline for the new dedicated bakery at 5701 Central Avenue (the former Rae Rae’s Cafe) could see it open in mid-August. The team behind the bakery told I Love the ‘Burg that if everything goes to plan the bakery should open on August 15. Follow Crumb Factory on Instagram for updates, and to browse through a gallery of its gorgeous breads.
Who’s ready for 2,400-square-feet of delicious Chilean bread?
