UPDATE 7/5/21: Due to Tropical Storm Elsa, the St. Pete Pier Drone Light Show has been postponed to Saturday, July 31.

“The July 6, 2021 one-year anniversary immersive drone light show celebration presented by Duke Energy at the St. Pete Pier has been postponed due to Tropical Storm Elsa. The event is currently rescheduled for Saturday, July 31, 2021.The safety of the St. Pete Pier’s visitors, staff and vendors remains our top priority. At this time, the severe inclement weather, high winds, rain as well as a high likelihood of lightning in and around downtown St. Petersburg has halted all outdoor activities in the area. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.”

The City of St. Pete has announced the Duke Energy Drone Light Show to celebrate the one year anniversary of the new St. Pete Pier on July 6.
“This one-of-a-kind immersive light show will consist of 300 drones equipped with LED lights, creating formations stretching over 500ft across the sky, creating a massive and breathtaking display that celebrates the City of St. Petersburg,” wrote city officials in a release.
Additionally, the first 2000 guests that arrives at Spa Beach Park starting at 8pm will receive a wristband that will interact throughout the night and be a part of the show. Live Music starts at 5pm featuring DJ Fresh, Shevonne & The Force.

The St. Pete Pier already received exciting news that artist Ya La’Ford would contribute a massive installation to the St. Petersburg Museum of History expansion.
An inaugural 4th of July Fireworks display is also set for the upcoming holiday weekend on the waterfront.
A 4-mile run will also take place on the 4th of July at the St. Pete Pier.
