Pete’s General, the hub for one of the best bagels in the ‘Burg, will open a new location in the Grand Central District of St. Pete at 2361 1st Avenue South. In addition to its celebrated bagels, this Pete’s General location will also offer baked goods and brunch delights from Le Clementine Bakeshop.
“I am pleased to inform you that soon you will be able to find traditionally made croissants, brioche, confections and more, freshly baked daily, at the new Grand Central District location of Pete’s General,” wrote the bakeshop owner Paulina Gervasi in an announcement on Instagram. “Delicious breakfast, brunch, afternoon snacks, picnic foods, whatever you need, made with so much care by the hands of a neighbor (that’s me). Imagine that friends.”

“Baking has always been my passion. Since I was a little girl, I was in the kitchen making cookies for the holidays. I tried so many different things in life, but I was always drawn back to baking,” said Gervasi in an interview with I Love the ‘Burg writer Kara VanDooijeweert.
Pete’s General opening in Grand Central District this Summer
The concept should open in July, though an official opening date hasn’t been announced.
Pete’s General initially made the announcement of their expansion in early spring.
“Well, Hello! We have BIG NEWS! We are opening a second Pete’s in @grandcentralsp District at 2361 1st Ave S. We have A LOT of fun surprises for the new space that you will just have to wait to find out, but we can assure you, there will be hand rolled bagels daily! Coming this Summer!”
Visit the bakery and general store in Historic Uptown
If you can’t wait to experience these treats, you can always visit their Historic Uptown location at 495 7th Avenue North.
The quaint shop and bakery is open every day from 8-3pm. Online ordering and a to-go window are open daily. Sink your teeth into house made bagels, sourdough and pastries.
