[PHOTOS] Inside Cocktail St. Pete, Grand Central’s vibrant new gay bar

Cocktail St. Pete (2355 Central Avenue) will be a brand new craft cocktail/dance bar in the Grand Central District of St. Petersburg situated on the same block as the buzzed about speakeasy The Saint. Owner David Fischer, who also operates The Saint and Zazoo’d, may be one of the most assiduous designers and small business owners in the Sunshine City.

Cocktail officially opens May 7, but the owners felt the team was ready for some soft opening fun the weekend of May 1. Stunning libations, a soundtrack that features bop after bop, and an all too gregarious team have already made Cocktail an integral part of the Grand Central District.

The mantra for the concept: Stiff Drinks, Hard Liquor, Raging Good Times.

Cocktail makes a grand debut on May 7

Here’s the announcement from the owners:

“Start enjoying Stiff Drinks, Hard Liquor and Raging Good Times Friday May 7th! We will be open 12pm – 3am Tuesday – Sundays. See you May 7th.”

Fischer is known for his meticulous attention to detail. The Saint’s eclectic mix of local art and cocktails that are almost too fabulous to drink have made it a swift staple in the Sunshine City’s beverage scene.

Inside, guests will enjoy giant rotating disco balls, glittery walls, rainbow lights over the circular bar, a chic lounge area, and of course plenty of space dance. A small stage is also set up in side for live performances.

A booming neighborhood in the Sunshine City

The bar is located across the street from the newly opened Grand Central Brewhouse, a massive multi-level indoor/outdoor bar with a massive courtyard. LALA St. Pete, a karaoke bar, is set to open on the Grand Central Brewhouse property in 2021.

Future plans also call for a potential pool bar in the back of the building on the 2300 Block of Central Avenue similar to The Hollander’s H2O Bar.

You can follow Cocktail St. Pete’s progress on Facebook and Instagram, as well as the bar’s website.
