Celebrate the darker side of the holiday season
Rooted in ancient pagan rituals, Krampus Nacht (or “Krampus Night”) honors the folklore of Krampus, the half-goat, half-demon creature who punishes naughty children. While St. Nicholas rewards the good on December 5, Krampus arrives to deal with the bad.
Primarily observed in Germany and Austria, Krampus Nacht combines festive fun with spooky revelry, offering a “Halloween-on-Christmas” vibe. Revelers often dress as Krampus, enjoy a parade, and partake in plenty of scares, drinks, and merriment. Its contrast to commercial Christmas celebrations has fueled its growing popularity worldwide.
