After nearly two months of recovery following Hurricane Helene, Bavaro’s on Clearwater Beach is reopening its doors at 468 Mandalay Ave. Known for its authentic Italian cuisine and deep roots in Tampa Bay, the family-owned restaurant will resume serving patrons today at 4 p.m.
Bavaro’s first gained recognition in Tampa 15 years ago, earning a reputation for quality and authenticity. Over the years, the brand expanded to the EDGE District in St. Petersburg and added an award-winning grab-and-go spot inside Tampa International Airport. A community effort to get the restaurant back open
Dan Bavaro, the founder, expressed his gratitude and excitement about the reopening. “We are extremely proud of all the Bavaro team members who worked diligently to overcome the challenges we faced to make this day happen,” he said. He also thanked TWT Construction, Sysco, and their lending partners, including Bank of Central Florida and Valley National Bank, for their support during this difficult time.
The aftermath of hurricanes Helene and Milton tested the resilience of many local businesses, including Bavaro’s. With the help of mentors, advisors, and a dedicated team, the restaurant is ready to welcome diners once again. Bavaro encouraged the community to support local establishments and the beach areas, emphasizing their need for visitors to thrive.
The region continues to shine after storms
Bavaro’s reopening is not only a milestone for the restaurant but also a symbol of the resilience and unity of the Tampa Bay community. Residents and visitors now have another reason to visit Clearwater Beach and enjoy the authentic flavors that have made Bavaro’s a local treasure.
