A new distillery in Largo, Vista Gin (521 Commerce Drive S), is earning major accolades. The gin producer’s flagship product, Soleil, was selected as a gold winner by the Bartender Spirits Awards. It’s the second award the distillery has received in recent weeks for its work.
While you can find its products in stores across the region, the distillery also has a tasting room that’s open Wednesday-Thursday from 4pm-9pm, Friday from 4pm-10pm, Saturday from noon-10pm, and Sunday from noon-6pm. Enjoy a flight of gin or one of their hand-crafted cocktails when you visit.

The craft distilling scene in Florida is thriving
Vista Gin was established with the mission to bring true craft distilling to Florida and beyond, aiming to mirror the success of craft brewing across the nation, and is positioned to meet the growing demand for high-quality, artisanal spirits, write the owners in a press release. Tasting notes about Vista Gin’s Soleil from the Bartender Spirit Awards judges said, “Subtle, balanced flavors combine in a straightforward expression of classic gin flavors of juniper, fruit, citrus, and mild baking spices. Subtle finish, and pleasant all around making it an easily approachable spirit.”
“We really wanted a way to recognize those spirits that would be a great addition to any bar and that are completely on-trend in terms of packaging and price,” said Sid Patel, Founder and CEO of Beverage Trade Network. “Whether bartenders are looking to plug a very specific gap in their existing spirits inventory, or construct an entirely new cocktail menu from scratch, what better advice could they get than from fellow bartenders?”

“After close to a decade of making spirits professionally, it’s gratifying to receive this award from such a prestigious competition just months after launching our flagship products,” said Jesse Tate, Founder and Distiller of Vista Gin.
