2018 Movies In The Park Lineup Released!

Preserve the Burg has announced their 2018 lineup for Movies In The Park, this year they have an exciting mix of comedy and classics. Every movie has a corresponding band performing before the movie to kick off the night. Movies, popcorn and performances, you can’t beat that! Movies In The Park will be located at North Straub Park. May 3: Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? is a 1967 classic that was selected last year for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” It follows the life of an interracial couple during a time where interracial marriage was not yet legalized in all of the United States. The film focuses on the familial and societal aspects of interracial marriage but is able to stay lighthearted in the category of comedy-drama.

May 10th: My Big Fat Greek Wedding

My Big Fat Greek Wedding is a romantic comedy that hit theaters in 2002 and has been enjoyed ever since. The main character, Toula, falls in love but is stuck in a sticky situation worried her family will be upset by the fact that he is not Greek. What will she do?

May 17th: Father of the Bride

This 1991 romance drama will have you glued to your chair. It follows an overprotective father when his daughter, Annie, returns from studying abroad and announces she is engaged. From meeting the in-laws to planning the wedding this Dad is in for a lot!

Music: Talk To Mark

May 24th: Back to the Future

Be prepared for a blast from the past with Back To The Future! The sci-fi classic follows a teen who is thrown into the past watch him find a way to get back to the future.

May 31st: Batman (1989)

Who doesn’t know the superhero Batman? Batman is found in comic books, TV Shows, video games, action figures, and most importantly movies! The classic Batman movie will be flying over to Movies In The Park May 31st.
