St. Petersburg is gearing up for the first-ever Winter Pride celebrations in the Grand Central District. The week-long event, running from February 16–23, promises to be an unforgettable experience for St. Pete residents and visitors. See all the event information on its website and Facebook.
The festivities begin on Friday, February 16, with an exciting street party on Central Avenue between 23rd and 24th Streets, from 4 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. The organizers are calling it a celebration of Pride, inviting everyone to dance in the streets where it all began. Attendees can expect spirited entertainment, local vendors, drinks and much more to set the tone for the week ahead. DJ Ace Vedo will provide music on the street, while DJ Tex Flex takes the decks inside The Wet Spot.

“This street party will be the perfect way to kick off Winter Pride in style,” said event organizers. “We can’t wait to see everyone out dancing and celebrating together.”
A new winter tradition in the Grand Central District
But that’s just the start. February 22 brings another thrilling event to the Grand Central District: the Winter Pride Drag Race. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., three blocks of Central Avenue (between 22nd and 25th Streets) will transform into a race course where drag superstars will compete in a one-of-a-kind drag race. Teams of five will build custom cars to race in full drag, battling it out for the title and a series of coveted prizes.
“This event is going to be unlike anything St. Pete has ever seen,” organizers said. “Our 12 teams will race through a course with roadblocks that will make even RuPaul jealous. It’s fun for all ages, with local vendors, food trucks and plenty of fan experiences to keep everyone entertained.”
Street parties set for the Sunshine City
Spectators can watch the action from the street or upgrade to VIP bleachers for a closer view. For those looking for the ultimate experience, Winter Pride offers Platinum and Presenting Sponsorships, which include VIP tents along the racecourse.
