Some of the wildest and creamiest creations around are coming to downtown St. Pete this fall. The Yard Milkshake Bar, which rose to fame thanks to its appearance on Shark Tank, is opening at 111 2nd Avenue NE, Suite 103, in the plaza home to favorites like Ale and the Witch, Dracula’s Legacy, and Paradeco.

The Yard announced last year that it was coming to St. Pete in 2022, and finally shared the news yesterday that it will officially celebrate its grand opening on Friday, October 21. The drool-worthy ice cream parlor already has limited hours of operation now as part of its soft opening, but will be open full time beginning the 21st. You can follow the St. Pete shop on facebook here.

As for the offerings, The Yard truly goes over the top, and dishes up far more than just milkshakes. In addition to the 18 specialty milkshakes on the St. Pete menu, there will also be more than 30 flavors of ice cream, eight types of edible cookie dough (also available frozen as a cookie dough pop), ice cream floats, specialty bowls, and around 60 different toppings to choose from.

We have brain freeze already. There are also gluten-friendly, vegan-friendly, and lactose-friendly ice cream flavors and toppings. And did we mention the ice cream can also be served in a sugar cone or on a waffle?

While The Yard has a standard menu available at all locations (it recently opened in Tampa, as well), there will be a St. Pete-only shake dubbed the Hurricane Pete. In that concoction, find coconut ice cream mixed with pineapple juice with blue marshmallow drizzle in a vanilla iced jar with cotton candy clouds. It is then topped with stormy whipped cream, a hurricane cupcake, and a lighting rock candy stick.

Other milkshake varieties include options like Cookie Monster, The Cereal Killer, Peanut Butter Brownie Bliss, Old School Banana Split, Salted Caramel Cheesecake, and Doughnut Touch my Coffees and Cream. Ice cream varieties, in additional to the usual flavors, include options such as caramel cheesecake cookie monster, cappuccino crunch, honey roasted peanut butter, and graham central station.

Toppings include everything from Butterfinger pieces, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, mermaid candy jewels and Nutella drizzle, to an entire brownie, cinnamon bun, glazed donut, chocolate-dipped s’more or New York cheesecake slice. Guests are welcome to order any of the specialty menu items, or go wild and create their own. According to a quick online permutations calculation, that means nearly 500,000 ice cream combinations are available every day. Pass the Pepto, please.
