If you’ve spent more than five minutes in Safety Harbor, you already know it’s the kind of charming, walkable downtown that makes the rest of Florida slightly jealous. And as of right now, it’s even better, because The Sandwich on Main has officially reopened its doors at 801 Main Street, and Safety Harbor couldn’t be more ready.

And what are you actually getting when you walk through those doors? Handcrafted sandwiches built on Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, served alongside homemade sauces and bread, because some places just don’t believe in taking the easy road. The Smokestack, featuring thin-sliced smoked turkey piled onto grilled homemade cheddar bread with applewood smoked bacon, has earned a devoted following. The Midnight Cuban, the Reuben, and the muffaletta are all there, too. There are soups, salads, and the now-legendary Kara’s cookies.

Then there’s the drink selection: craft beer, wine, and an assortment of craft sodas interesting enough that customers have written glowing reviews specifically about the beverages, which, honestly, says everything.

This place holds a 98% recommendation rate on Facebook. It’s ranked number three of all 40 restaurants in Safety Harbor on TripAdvisor. It’s earned every bit of that reputation, and now it’s back with more room to deliver.
