One of our favorite brunch spots here at I Love the Burg is also one of the most-loved in the entire country, according to a new report. OpenTable, the reservation-making platform, released its annual guide to the 100 most popular brunch spots in America, and The Library in St. Pete made the list.
While the restaurants aren’t ranked, The Library was one of three Tampa Bay Area spots to crack the top 100 alongside Ybor City’s Columbia Restaurant and Connors Steak & Seafood in Sarasota. In less national news, The Library is also on our list of the top 15 brunch spots in St. Pete, which we certainly recommend checking out, especially if you need Mother’s Day plans.

The Library is definitely deserving of its apparent popularity, as it combines bright and beautiful library-themed décor with some truly delicious food and drink. The coffee and cocktails are worth a visit alone, and the variety of brunch plates has something for everyone.
We can personally vouch for close to a dozen items on the menu, and it’s hard to imagine anything there being less than great. The breakfast burrito is a delight, and the pancakes are an absolute feast of fluffy sweetness. Their “Super Simple Sandwich” of eggs, cheese and bacon on toast is one of the best breakfast sandwiches in town, and the brunch flatbread is perfect for those looking for something a bit more savory.
In addition to shareables and salads (the deviled eggs and chicken paillard are both good choices), The Library also has plenty of less breakfast-y items, in case French toast or gouda grits aren’t what you’re feeling. The blackened fish tacos are outstanding, as are the steak frites and turkey club.
Check out The Library’s full menu and make a reservation here. The Library is located at 600 5th Street South, and brunch is offered Saturday and Sunday from 9 am – 4 pm.
