A new eatery in Central Oak Park is quickly earning rave reviews from the neighborhood, and we may need to move it up to the top of our must-try list based on the early response. Tasty Treats Café officially opened April 10 at 4130 5th Avenue North, serving house-made breakfast and lunch six days a week.
The café is open from 7 am – 3 pm Monday-Saturday, dishing up build-your-own breakfast sandwiches, fresh-baked flat bread pizzas, sweet pastries, big sandwiches, and plenty of coffee to pair with it all. They also churn out homemade biscuits, which can be topped with gravy, turned into breakfast sandwiches, or enjoyed warm and straight out of the oven.

The full menu also includes salads, a variety of rotating sweets (think muffins, cookies, croissants, pie, and cinnamon rolls), quiches, hot dogs (available in either breakfast or lunch variety), build-your-own lunch sandwiches, tea, and even hot chocolate.
While we’ve yet to get in for a taste ourselves, the early reviews certainly sound promising. One neighbor and five-star reviewer said the homemade meal tasted “like my mom made it,” while another review specifically praised the “insanely good” biscuits.
Said one local guide: “Tasty Treats Café is my new favorite place in St. Petersburg for delicious, quick breakfast or lunch on the go! The kitchen is super clean and the staff wonderful to deal with. Highly recommend!”
